The Museum of Coins and Medals is one of the oldest in Slovakia. Its expositions can be found in historic buildings that are part of the city’s monument reserve.

To this day, the Kremnica Mint maintains the primacy of the oldest enterprise, which has been operating continuously in Slovakia since the coinmakers received this privilege from King Karol Róbert of Anjou.

In the middle of a quiet forest you will find a reconstructed water channel in the length of 2450 meters (1.5 miles) in the shape of a trough, made of coniferous wood.

The hotel and the castle in one in a beautiful setting was once an almost hopeless ruin. Today it is beautifully renovated and offers short-term and long-term recreation.

The outdoor museum in Pribylina is an extended exhibition of Liptov Museum in Ruzomberok. It features buildings from the flooded area of Liptovska Mara and some villages of upper and lower Liptov.

The third oldest gallery in Slovakia in the center of Liptovsky Mikulas in a beautiful historic place includes 5,000 works of art from the 15th to 20th century. It also boasts the largest exhibition hall of its kind in Slovakia.

Jewish Synagogue with monumental Classicistic exterior and Art Nouveau interior, was built on the site of a former wooden synagogue, which burned down in 1878.

A national monument – complex of water mills Oblazy is located in a picturesque Kvacianska valley. It is an excellent place to relax and get to know the history of Liptov.

Fitting almost 6.000 visitors, the magnificent church in Sv. Kriz is one of the largest wooden constructions in Central Europe. Its ground plan has a shape of a cross and is 43m long.

12 m high cascade waterfall located right in the center of the village Lucky, under the church of Elevation of the Cross enchants all visitors as it’s falling into small ponds from the edge of the travertine terrace.

Open-air museum in Havránok is the most important archeological monument in the Liptov region. It showcases the reconstruction of the Celts farm settlement.

Situated in the south of Slovakia between the towns of Roznava and Lucenec, water reservoir Ruzina has the best climate and very warm and calm water to make any swimmer or fisherman happy.

In Liptov, one of the favourite cycle routes lead around the Liptovska Mara reservoir, a popular recreation centre. Best start is in Liptovsky Mikulas, but since this is a closed circuit, it is possible to connect to it at any point.

This cave is located in Velka Fatra, in Harmanecka valley. No wonder that it got stuck with a name “White Cave”. The top wall is of pure limestone and there is a rich presence of soft white sinter.

Banska Bystrica region is situated in the territory of historical Zvolen region. The largest of all regions is situated in the central part of Slovakia.

History of Likava Castle goes back 700 years. It was once a royal guardian castle, later rebuilt as a sumptuous private residence.

At the exit from Žilina to Kysuce, at the junction of the Rivers Vah and Kysuca, there rises the far-visible water tower of the former medieval castle.

A special combo of a preserved ruined castle and a Renaissance manor house on the edge of the town of Liptovsky Hradok offers stylish accommodation, restaurant and a very untraditional place for a visit.

Very preserved castle with bright white walls is standing on the road between Banska Bystrica and Brezno. An important route led here in medieval times – Via Manga.

It’s impossible to overlook the ruins of a castle on a rocky cliff above the river Vah on the road from Žilina to Martin. The small castle, defender toll station, has become the best fortified castle of the area.
