Bojnice Castle

Bojnice Castle

Romantic fairy-tale Bojnice Castle is one of the most visited and most attractive castles in central Europe. The Chateau is located near Prievidza, on the edge of the Strážovské vrchy mountains over the town of Bojnice.

The chateau houses a museum of art and history. The exhibition contains the original furniture, various artefacts and paintings like the late gothic collection Bojnice Altar by a master of Florence from 14th century and many other mysterious and hidden secrets. The tour also includes a visit to a stalactite cave under the castle connected with the 26-meter deep castle well.

The castle’s calendar is filled with numerous public events all year round. The biggest annual event is the International Ghosts and Spirits Festival organized in May. During winter for example, you can visit a castle adorned in Christmas decorations.

🚕 How to Get There

Visitors arriving in cars from Prievidza must turn left at the crossroads in Bojnice and the road will lead them right to the main two-way street in the town where they can park their cars. The chateau area is hidden in the green park and is only a short walk from the parking lot.
